Our focus

CHAMPIONING MUSIC EDUCATION AND INCREASING INVESTMENT

We are focused on raising awareness of the importance of a meaningful, high-quality music education.

Investment into music education has fallen, with schools, Music Hubs and community organisations struggling to provide support to young people.

36%
Funding cuts for Music Hubs since 2012 (Musician's Union)
61%
of school music departments surveyed felt that their budget is insufficient (ISM)

IMPROVING EDUCATION AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Not all young people have the same opportunity to pursue their musical interests in industry settings.

We hope to engage youth, teachers and industry to raise young people’s ambitions to participate in music.

70%
of the most deprived schools have no GCSE music entries (CLA)
56%
fall in recruitment of music teachers since 2010 (CLA)
